Kartana, also known as UB-04 Blade and the Drawn Pokemon, this Grass/Steel type can only be caught in Pokemon Sun. However, thanks to its typing, it's resistant to eight types, immune to two, and only weak to fire and electric type moves. With high, balanced stats all around - save for its meaningless speed stat - Celesteela would already be a formidable foe. However, its design is nothing compared to how much of a monster this thing is in battle. I absolutely adore the fact that I have no idea how to describe what this thing looks like. Celesteela/KartanaĬelesteela, also known as the Launch Pokemon and UB-04 Blaster, this Steel/Flying type can only be caught in Pokemon Moon. Hit it with one physical attack from any of the 12 types it isn't resistant to, and odds are it'll go down. Whereas Xurkitree has one truly great, standout stat, Nilhilego has an absolutely terrible, outlier defense. However, it has the opposite problem of Xurkitree. (Especially when so many other Pokemon look like animals.)įor the most part, Nilhilego has excellent stats. Even if I was fond of that animal, I'd be disappointed with how it looks like something we've seen before, as opposed to looking surreal and alien. I won't spoil exactly what it does - but I assure you, its pretty dark.Īs for its 's a jellyfish. NihilegoĪlso known as the Parasite Pokemon and UB-01 Symbiont, this Rock/Poison-type only gets placed above Xurkitree for being one of the driving forces in the story. However, it has no effect on the story, and, with its only base stat that's above average being its whopping 173 SpA, Xurkitree finds a spot at number five. That, along with its typing, is why I personally love it. Resembling a tree made of electrical wires, Xurkitree really captures the idea of the UBs being alien. However, since I'm factoring in impact on the story and competitive use, this Electric-type Ultra Beast lands at the bottom.Īlso known as the Glowing Pokemon and UB-03 Lighting, Xurkitree - like all of the Ultra Beasts - has a base stat total of 570. If this list were completely up to personal opinion, Xurkitree would land higher. As such, here's how we'd rank these Ultra Beasts. And it just so happens that by counting the version-exclusive ones as a single entry, the number of UB's comes out to a round five. However, once you've finished the main story, you get the chance to catch them all. Pheromosa may incorporate "pheromone", "mimosa" (a type of silky tree plant), "hermosa" (Spanish for "beautiful"), or "formosa" (Portuguese for "beautiful"), and the suffix "-a" which is used in languages to represent a female or something feminine in appearance or quality.įerōche comes from "pheromone," "feroce" ("fierce" in Italian, often considered a "romantic" or "classy" language), and "cockroach. These creatures from another world (especially that UB-01 above), play a large role in the game's story. Being a counterpart to Buzzwole, it may play off of the Fight Or Flight response theme of the two, with Pheromosa resembling the Flight response and usually relying on speed. With the theory that the original seven Ultra Beasts are based on the Seven Deadly Sins, Pheromosa may be based on the sin of lust, as it is capable of giving off pheromones that make other Pokémon become attracted to its appearance. It particularly resembles the molted shell of a cockroach, which are usually white or transparent. Pheromosa is based on a cockroach with humanoid traits. It is unknown why Pheromosa can learn Roost, a move used often by Flying or levitating Pokémon.Pheromosa bears a close resemblance to Lusamine, especially in its shiny form. Both are Bug/Fighting-types, but while Buzzwole is exclusive to Sun and masculine-looking, Pheromosa is exclusive to Moon and feminine-looking. Pheromosa can be seen as a counterpart to Buzzwole.Italic indicates an evolved or alternate form of this Pokémon receives STAB from this move.īreeding Pheromosa learns no moves via breeding. Learnset Leveling Leveling Generation VIIīold indicates this Pokémon receives STAB from this move.
